Gauci Legal may receive your name, contact details, the identity of the parties involved, information about the matter and any documents you choose to provide. The website’s hosting and security systems may also process technical information such as an IP address, browser information and access logs.
Do not send confidential, sensitive or special-category data before the firm confirms that it is able to consider the matter. An enquiry does not create an advocate-client relationship.

- respond to an enquiry and carry out conflict and acceptance checks;
- take steps requested before entering into a professional engagement;
- provide legal services where the firm is formally instructed;
- manage correspondence, records, security and administration; and

Depending on the circumstances, processing is based on steps taken at your request before a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, the legitimate interests of the firm or its clients, or consent where consent is expressly requested. Special-category data may be processed where permitted for legal claims or the provision of legal services.
Sharing and service providers
Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed where necessary to courts, tribunals, public authorities, counterparties, professional advisers, experts and other persons involved in a matter. The firm may also use email, document-management, hosting, security and other professional service providers that process data subject to appropriate obligations.
Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, the firm will rely on an applicable adequacy decision or other lawful safeguards where required.

Personal data is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, taking account of professional duties, legal requirements, limitation periods and the need to maintain an appropriate record of work and enquiries.
